Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 15, 2025

At SparkWaveFlow, we handle your personal information with care and respect. This policy explains what we collect, why we need it, and how we protect it.

We're based in Taiwan and follow the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) along with international standards. If something here doesn't make sense, reach out—we're happy to clarify.

What Information We Collect

When you interact with our smart contract development education programs, we gather different types of information depending on how you use our services.

Personal Details

Your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address when you register for courses or contact us with questions.

Technical Data

IP addresses, browser types, device information, and how you navigate through our website to improve functionality.

Educational Records

Course progress, assignment submissions, quiz results, and certification achievements to track your learning journey.

Communication History

Messages you send us, support tickets, feedback forms, and any other correspondence related to our services.

Information You Provide Directly

Most of what we collect comes straight from you. When you sign up for a course, fill out a contact form, or send us a question, that's information you've chosen to share. We don't gather anything sensitive unless it's absolutely necessary for the educational service you're requesting.

Automatically Collected Data

Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information when you visit. This includes your IP address, what browser you're using, and which pages you look at. We use this to fix bugs, understand what content people find helpful, and make the site work better overall.

How We Use Your Information

Everything we collect serves a specific purpose related to providing quality smart contract education and support.

  • Delivering course materials, tracking your progress, and issuing certificates when you complete programs
  • Answering your questions and providing technical support when you run into issues
  • Sending updates about course schedules, new learning materials, or changes to our programs
  • Analyzing how people use our site to identify areas where we can improve the learning experience
  • Meeting legal requirements under Taiwan regulations and maintaining proper educational records
  • Preventing fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access to our educational platform
  • Developing new courses and materials based on what students actually need

We don't sell your information to third parties. We don't use it for purposes unrelated to education. And we definitely don't share it with marketing companies or data brokers.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, we process your information based on:

Contract fulfillment: We need your data to deliver the educational services you've signed up for.

Legitimate interests: Improving our courses and maintaining platform security benefits everyone.

Legal compliance: Some educational records must be kept to satisfy Taiwan regulatory requirements.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We work with a small number of trusted service providers who help us run our educational platform. These relationships are limited and controlled.

Service Type Purpose Data Shared
Cloud Hosting Storing course materials and user data securely All platform data, encrypted and protected
Email Services Sending course updates and support messages Email addresses and communication content
Payment Processing Handling course registration payments Payment information (we never see full card details)
Analytics Tools Understanding site usage patterns Anonymized browsing data and statistics

All our service providers sign agreements requiring them to protect your information and use it only for the specific purposes we've authorized. We regularly review these relationships to make sure standards are maintained.

When Law Requires Disclosure

Sometimes we're legally obligated to share information—like if a Taiwan court issues a valid order, or if there's a genuine emergency where someone's safety is at risk. We'll always notify you about such requests unless we're legally prohibited from doing so.

Your Privacy Rights

Taiwan law gives you significant control over your personal information. Here's what you can do:

  1. Access your data: Request a copy of everything we have about you. We'll provide it in a readable format within 15 days.
  2. Correct inaccuracies: If something in your records is wrong, let us know and we'll fix it promptly.
  3. Delete your information: Ask us to remove your data from our systems. Some educational records must be kept for legal reasons, but we'll delete everything else.
  4. Restrict processing: Tell us to stop using your information in certain ways while keeping it on file.
  5. Data portability: Get your information in a format you can transfer to another education provider.
  6. Withdraw consent: If we're processing data based on your consent, you can revoke that permission anytime.
  7. Object to processing: Challenge how we're using your information if you believe it's not appropriate.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@sparkwaveflow.com with your request. We'll verify your identity and respond within the timeframes required by Taiwan law.

Data Security Measures

Protecting your information isn't just a legal requirement—it's fundamental to how we operate. We've implemented multiple layers of security:

  • Industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Strict access controls limiting who can view student information
  • Secure backup systems with encrypted storage
  • Employee training on data protection and privacy best practices
  • Incident response procedures for handling potential breaches quickly

Despite our best efforts, no system is completely immune to security issues. If we detect a breach affecting your information, we'll notify you and the relevant Taiwan authorities within 72 hours as required by law.

Data Retention Periods

We don't keep your information forever. Different types of data have different retention schedules based on legal requirements and practical needs.

Active Student Records

While you're enrolled in courses, we maintain complete records of your progress, assignments, and achievements. This continues for six months after you complete or leave a program.

Educational Transcripts

Under Taiwan education regulations, we must keep certification records and final grades for seven years. After that period, they're securely deleted.

Communication History

Support tickets and general correspondence are kept for three years to help resolve any future questions or disputes. After that, they're removed from our systems.

Technical Logs

Website usage data and security logs are retained for 90 days, then automatically purged unless needed for ongoing security investigations.

International Data Transfers

Our servers are primarily located in Taiwan, but some service providers operate facilities in other countries. When your information crosses borders, we ensure it receives protection equivalent to Taiwan standards through contractual safeguards and technical measures.

We'll notify you if there are significant changes to where your data is stored or processed.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies—small text files stored on your device—to make things work properly and remember your preferences.

Essential Cookies

These are necessary for basic site functionality. They handle things like keeping you logged in and remembering what's in your course cart. You can't disable these without breaking core features.

Analytics Cookies

We use these to understand how people navigate the site and which content is most helpful. The data is anonymized and helps us improve the learning experience. You can opt out through your browser settings.

Preference Cookies

These remember choices like your language preference or display settings. They make your experience more convenient but aren't strictly necessary.

Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. Keep in mind that blocking all cookies might prevent some features from working correctly.

Children's Privacy

Our smart contract development courses are designed for adults and people aged 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 without verifiable parental consent.

If we discover we've accidentally gathered data from someone underage, we'll delete it immediately. Parents who believe their child has provided information to us should contact support@sparkwaveflow.com right away.

Changes to This Policy

We update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect new practices, technologies, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we'll notify active students by email and post a notice on the website.

The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when the current version took effect. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Major revisions will include a summary of what changed and why, so you're not left guessing what's different.
